Men @ the Church
Book of Philemon!
Introduction:
The Book of Philemon is written to a very dear friend of Paul named Philemon, who lived in the city of Colosse, from the scripture we see that Philemon was the pastor of the church. However, we notice that this is a very personal letter address to Philemon, his family, and to the church family. Paul is attempting to make his points very clear, and restore to the fellowship another dear friend. Let’s look at the men @ this church.
        I.            Paul the encourager & Apostle
1)      He challenged the church to review it beliefs and practice’s.
2)      He challenged the church to do the right thing.
3)      He challenged the church to share their faith
4)      He challenged the church to pray.

      II.            Philemon the educator & pastor
1)      He was commissioned to teach the foundational truth of scripture
2)      He was commissioned to live a Godly life
3)      He was challenged by Paul to set the example in dealing with Onenisum

    III.            Archippus the Engaged
·   His wife is believed to be Apphia, and very active in the church as well.
2)      He and his family work in the church
3)      He and his family is involved in building the church’
4)      He is ready to share his faith with others.

    IV.            Onenisum the equipped
1)      He had to make some radical changes in his life
·   Give up a life of crime (we don’t know the details but they were not good)
2)      He had to have a heartfelt conversion
3)      He learned at St. Paul’s School of Ministry
4)      He learned to walk with Christ
5)      He was commissioned to carry the letter that would restore him to fellowship with Philemon and the church

      V.            Conclusion!
